Johann Wolfgang von Goethe  Traveling along the coastline of Viana do Castelo, heading north, next to the sea, we can observe, in the parish of Areosa, four windmills that are currently devoid of their sails, but that in ancient times used to grind cereals, taking advantage of the strength of the offshore winds.
